Objectives: To recognize the impact of allusion and metaphor on communication
Activities:
- A. Show Star Trek episode “Darmok.” Remind students to pay careful attention since an activity related to this video will be conducted during our next class meeting.
- B. After the video, have students write down questions they want to ask about the episode. Please collect these questions before the students leave.
Assignment for next class meeting: Write out answers to the exercises on pp. 839-840. Read “My Last Duchess” p. 768-770 in Perrine’s Literature and complete the AP practice multiple-choice exercise over that poem.
